STATEMENT OF FAITH

What we believe….             .

The Trinity (the Godhead)

There is one true God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Each is fully and equally God, possessing divine nature and attributes, and is totally worthy of our worship and service.

God the Father

God the Father is the first person of the Trinity and is the eternal, unchanging, all-powerful, all-knowing, All-wise, all-loving, perfectly holy, sovereign Ruler and Sustainer of the universe. He is the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

God the Son

As the second person of the Trinity, Jesus Christ is the only begotten eternal Son of God who became flesh, fulfilling prophesy and becoming the Savior of the lost world. Miraculously conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He was fully God and fully man who died on the cross as the substitutionary, all-sufficient atoning sacrifice for the sins of all men. He was buried; rose from the dead; ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity Who came into the world on the day of Pentecost to glorify Christ and to enable men to appropriate salvation through Christ. He is the primary agent for conviction of sin and along with salvation, imparts new life, baptizes the believer into the body of Christ, permanently indwells the believer.

Satan

Satan is a real spirit being and a fallen angel who is the instigator of evil. Under the sovereign permission of God, he has been given temporary rulership of the earth. Although defeated at the cross, God has postponed his judgment until after Christ establishes His Millennial Kingdom when he will be cast into the eternal lake of fire. Every believer can resist him through faith and reliance on the power of the Holy Spirit.

Salvation

The shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for forgiveness of sins and salvation, which is the free gift of God’s grace. Salvation is appropriated when a person places his faith in the finished work of Christ; it cannot be earned b personal merit.

The Church

The church is the body of Christ, Jesus is the Head and its members are those who have truly received Christ by faith. United in Christ by the same Spirit, they should live in love, harmony and unity.

Baptism

Through this ordinance, a Believer is immersed in water in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. It is a sign of the death and resurrection of Christ, the remission of sins, and the Believer’s declaration to live in newness of life.

The Lord’s Supper

The ordinance of administering the elements of bread and wine commemorates Christ’s death, renews a Believer’s faith and communion with Him.
