Vision

We envision a Christ-directed Trinity Baptist Church, persistently driven to discipleship that transform lives within our congregation, community and beyond by… insightful and relevant teaching of God’s word, creative praise and worship, and mission-focused ministries that meet the needs of people locally and globally.

Mission

We believe our true mission as the body of Christ is found in the great Commission as stated in Matthew 26:16-20.  Our Mission as a church is to 1) Make disciples, 2) build up the body of Christ, 3) teach and instruct the body of Christ as commanded by the Bible and 4) evangelize and spread the gospel message of love and forgiveness into the entire world.

Historical Quick Facts

Trinity Baptist Church’s genealogy goes back many generations.

  • In October 1922, Trinity was formed from a merger between the Sumner Avenue and Bedford Heights Baptist Churches after both churches sold their respective holdings and purchased property at the current residence at 179 New York Avenue.
  • Joan Bernard Austin, a long-time member of Trinity was installed as the first woman pastor in May, 2022.
  • Austin succeeded Rev. Dr. Glenmore Bembry, Jr. who was Pastor of Trinity from 2001 until his retirement in March, 2022.
